“God thinks you are fabulous, and so do we!” St. John’s Episcopal Church
St. John’s seeks to be a beacon of community engagement by actively knowing and serving the people in our block, neighborhood, and city. We take pride in our partnerships with neighborhood organizations like the Historic College Park Neighborhood Association, the College Park Women’s Club, and others. We use the gifts and resources God has blessed us with to be good neighbors and We invite you to join us for one of our Neighborhood Events. Get to know your “neighborhood church.” Giving to others through outreach is also at the core of St. John’s mission and ministry. We invite you to joyfully participate in the giving opportunities St. John’s provides. Come join the giving and receive God’s blessings of caring for others and knowing your neighbors.
We give out non-perishable food bags on Thursdays from 11-1:00. Contact our Outreach Coordinator to learn more or come to the side door of the church for a food bag.
We also have many regularly scheduled community events that you can learn about via our newsletter or calendar.

St John’s Service Ministries and Partners
Food Bags. We hand out food bags to people in need in the Tri-Cities area 1 or 2 times a week. This is handled by volunteers of St John’s to purchase or donate to our pantry and volunteer fill the bags with a variety of items that require no refrigeration and can be easily eaten. Sanitary items when available are included such as soap, tooth brushes and toothpastes and wet wipes. We also invite our friends who receive food bags to join us for Wednesday Night Suppers.
College Park Kids’ Choir In 2023 we partnered with a parishioner, parents from the community and a music teacher from Fulton County Schools and started the College Park Kids’ Choir. This choir rehearses weekly on Wednesdays and sings for the community (and, on occasion, at St. John’s!) The choir families then join the church for an affordable, yummy Wednesday Night Dinner in Bott Hall. The Choir has given children from College Park a much needed outlet for their musical talents and gifts. For more information, click here.
Urban Recipe St John’s sponsors fresh fruits and vegetables purchased directly from farmers. Urban Recipe’s food co-ops each family they serve becomes a member of a 50-family food co-op that meets every other week. Because of the consistency and sense of ownership the model offers, co-ops are created to provide food security for those in need have become a place where relationships are formed, dignity is affirmed, and community is strengthened.
Emmaus House is a mission of the Diocese of Atlanta that has served in multiple ways. The holiday season has always been a special time at Emmaus House. For decades, parishes, friends, and organizations have donated Christmas gifts for more than 500 children in Peoplestown each year. Every year we collect gifts for children 13-18 years of age. Look for the gift drive during Advent.
